INVISIBLE as a child I experienced
I began my rich experience of disability
It an irony that with this
experience I am expected to
disabled woman artist I am invisible in the world. I have no resources
to create, no space, no assistants.
the expertssocial workers, doctors,
inexperienced they instruct how
I should live, how I cope.
My image is
created by non-disabled people with charity constructs
Charity constructs me and I disapp
'You stare b'perfect' 'normal'
ut I am not seen'FORM as QUESTION.
My early experienceexperience of so called experts
What could I gain from such inexperienced people?
their having a career - status from this,
our real expertise is not used - not recognised,
We're in the DSS/charity trap
WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?
Non-disabled people employed in the disability industry
- an income
giving houses, cars, holidays,
truly experienced in the disability field
- state benefit
Who NEEDS who? Who Exploits who?
