TOWARDS

Translating an image into physical existence to learn from it.
Maps containing placing of internal and external world. Maps - ways of not being in the world yet playing with it and treating the same way internal (thoughts/images) and external places/worlds.

Collections without known connections. Collections - ideas/words, objects, places, spaces in the mind.

Place, what is place? Turn right to the city, to rigid walls and discipline. Left, to the north, to the past, to other realities and nature flowing - and the spaces where these two meet, where these choices are made; where there are spaces, voids, in time and place, not to be talked about. Radical space the force of argument.

Imaging - left arm snake, right arm golden, light glove.
Ideas combining political issues with unconscious/dream imagery - thought out and magic.
Ideas representing feelings/emotions/states of mind - mixed media, flat and dimensional, to rock the balance. Catch the moment of off-balance, of doubt.
Elements within worked out piece, there without knowing, understanding. Random, like the turning up of awkwardness in everyone's 'best laid plans'

Gathering stones, written upon stones, from a stream. A past knowledge for now, from a flowing stream. Words on drawn stones, water slide superimposed. Myths from not-knowing.

Legs. Walking.
Thinking of pain, extra experiences given to those with pain - and magic qualities assigned to some disabled people in other cultures, other times (and our own). What was the magic for them?
What is magic for me?
Legs containing many things. An investigation into legs. Using them to express a feeling, a state of mind.

Explore multiple images - anatomical/medical sections, erotic/sensual areas, text - life experiences. (Perhaps part figure, part wheelchair? (Not for 'bound' but for relatedness) to explore the ambiguity of attitudes about disability, my own and the non-disabled)

Mind flowing out behind her, curling round to be in front. Moving on pain, pain moves her.
